How do I apply to Queens Preparatory Academy?

Admissions to QPA is based on attending an open house or information session and choosing our school as one of your top three high school choices. Please see our application page for details about applying to our school.

Do I have to live in Queens in order to apply?

Living in Queens is not a requirement. However, we give priority admission to students living in Queens in Region 3, including districts 25, 26, 28, and 29.

Does Queens Preparatory Academy provide special education services?

Our school provides students with disabilities the supports and services indicated on their IEP’s.

Which subway and bus lines go to QPA?

You can get to our school by taking the E to Archer Avenue or the F to 179th Street. There's also a special Jamaica Buses service – the Q85 or Q77.

Are cell phones or electronic devices allowed at school?

We do not allow electronic devices on our campus such as cell phones, iPods, mp3 players, CD players, radios, game-playing devices, or any other sound or video equipment. Please do not bring them to school; we confiscate the devices, and only a parent or guardian may retrieve them on specified days and times.

Does QPA have a dress code?

The dress code for Queens Preparatory Academy is as follows:

  • White or blue short or long-sleeved polo shirt with school logo
  • Khaki or navy colored (including blue jeans) slacks or skirt
  • No hats inside the school building
